CDA credential completion requirements

CDA Eligibility and Process

  1. Be 18 years of age or older
  2. High School Diploma or Equivalent
  3. Be able to speak, read and write well enough to fulfill the responsibilities of a CDA Candidate
  4. Sign and abide by a NAEYC statement of ethical conduct
  5. Take 120 hours of specified training
  6. Work 480 hours in the setting of requested credential
  7. Be seen and observed as a lead teacher with 8-10 children in that setting in preschool, 4 Infant/Toddlers or family childcare
  8. Complete a Resource File
  9. Distribute and Collect Parent Questionnaires
  10. Apply to The Council for Professional Recognition for Verification Visit

(review all and collection of parts of Resource file, ECSR, Oral Interview)
