Overview
If our training programs do not fit your needs, we encourage you to schedule an appointment for a free counseling session. Counseling sessions are the most efficient for those requiring assistance with a specific issue, rather than a general education in business management. Our advisors can provide a tailored recommendation that suits your business needs.
Clients may also use counseling sessions for technical assistance in small business management or as a way to gauge interest in one of our comprehensive training programs.
Sample topics covered in counseling sessions include:
- Business idea formation
- Business plan
- Accounting
- Marketing
- Access to capital
- Legal business forms
There is no cost to the client for scheduling a counseling session, nor is there any obligation to enroll in one of our programs. Our only requirement is that you complete a client intake form, in accordance with our major funding sources such as the Small Business Administration.
Call us today at (860) 768-5681 to set up an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you and learning how we can address your unique business needs.
Access to Capital
Your business plan may be perfect, but without the necessary funds, your vision will never be realized. The Entrepreneurial Center helps increase loan approval success by coaching clients through the application process, reviewing business plans and financial projections and providing referrals to appropriate lenders and loan guarantee programs.
The Entrepreneurial Center is not a direct lender; we work with traditional and nontraditional Connecticut lenders. The Center partners with loan guarantee programs, like the Connecticut Development Authority's URBANK Entrepreneurial Loan Program, the SBA loan programs located at many financial institutions throughout Connecticut and the SBA Community Express Loan Program through TD Banknorth.
Please visit www.sba.gov/financial/lendinvest/comexpress.html for more details. You can also access the Small Business Administration's Web site, a great resource for information on government grants, at: www.sba.gov/expandinggrants.html.
*Loan approval is not guaranteed. The borrower and the loan application must meet established criteria of the lender.
